HOW WILL NEW SIGNING DEPAY FARE AT BARCA THIS SEASON?

Barcelona’s new signing Memphis Depay is already off the mark for his new club and has opened his goal-scoring account even though it’s just in pre-season. The Netherlands international attacker joined the Catalan giants this summer as a free agent after seeing out his contract at French Ligue 1 club Lyon without agreeing to pen an extension. He decided against signing another contract at Lyon because he felt he was ready to play for a bigger club and he achieved his goal finally signing for Barcelona this summer, one of the biggest clubs in the world of football.

Depay’s move to Barca is seen as a massive upgrade in his career and all that now remains is for him to make a huge impact as a top signing that he already is. The Dutch forward has already impressed in pre-season after coming off the bench to score from the spot in Barcelona’s previous friendly match while he also netted another goal in their last match. He is already showing match sharpness and it would do him and the club a lot of good if he can maintain that fine form as the season is about to start so he can help the Catalan giants to fight for trophies next season.

ALVES TIPS BARCELONA TO WIN UCL NEXT SEASON

Former Barcelona defender Dani Alves has hailed his former club’s transfer businesses and has tipped them to emerge as the winners of the UEFA Champions League title next season. The Spanish La Liga giants have been busy in the summer transfer window even before it officially opened and while they have completed a couple of transfers already, they are still on the lookout for more possible signings while also very close to completing the signing of free agent Memphis Depay.

After letting go of Uruguay international striker Luis Suarez two some months ago, they needed to sign a replacement for the veteran forward and they have done so by completing and announcing the arrival of Sergio Agüero after the Argentine striker left Manchester City after the expiration of his contract at the Etihad. The signing of Agüero sent a message to the other big clubs in the Spanish La Liga that the Camp Nou outfit are getting ready to win back the league crown, while it also sent a statement of intent that they want to compete for the Champions League title as well.

BARCA SET TO OFFER FRESH 3-YEAR DEAL TO DEPAY

Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have continued to show how serious they are about securing their transfer business activities as early as possible. The Catalan giants are reportedly keen to secure the signing of Memphis Depay as soon as they can so that they can continue looking for more players they want to sign in a bid to continue strengthening their squad. They have already shown a strong statement of intent after capturing the services of Sergio Agüero following the Argentine striker’s contract expiration at Manchester City at the end of the season.

Barca now want to continue making more additions to the squad and have already been in negotiations with Memphis Depay for the past couple of weeks as they continue to strike an agreement with the Netherlands international star. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may have to face the tedious task of keeping hold of his star players in the summer if they continue to get linked with moves away from Anfield. The club’s poor form this season has raised questions as to whether they would still be able to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season since they are almost confirmed to be out of the title race.

Some Liverpool players have been touted to leave the club.
