CRUYFF CONSULTANCY IS WORKING

Mexican club Guadalajara continued their impressive form after the arrival of former Barcelona manager Johan Cruyff as a consultant recently. They recently secured their third consecutive win after the 2-1 win over Cruz Azul in the Mexican Clausura championship. Guadalajara made a terrible start to the season and were fighting against a poor run of results. However, the arrival of Johan Cruyff seems to have made a lot of difference, despite the fact that the former Barcelona manager has arrived in a consultant role. Guadalajara are still far away from winning the Championship, but it is the three consecutive wins that has pushed them into the mid-table.

Guadalajara will be hoping to continue this good run of form, which will become essential in order to attract young players. The arrival of Johan Cruyff is not only expected to make a significant difference in the style of play of the club, but also in the youth academy as well. Guadalajara scored two goals in the last few minutes of the match to come back from 1-0 to win the match 2-1. Emanuel Villa have scored for Cruz Azul earlier in the match, which looked to have provided them with a victory. However, the goal from Erick Torres levelled things, while a penalty from Hector Reynoso provided Guadalajara with the victory.

“That’s three rounds where we have played with heart and soul, we’re finding the results and the support of our fans. There’s still a long way to go in the tournament and we’re on our way back,” striker Marco Fabien de la Mora told reporters after the match. The club currently have 11 points from as many games in the league. They are currently nine points behind the leaders Morelia and Santos Laguna, but will be hoping that this form helps them close the gap.
