Lyon star Memphis Depay has continued to spark transfer rumors of his possible move to the Camp Nou after his latest activity. The Spanish La Liga giants have a long-standing interest in the Netherlands international and he is currently topping their striker shopping list as they wish to shuffle their attack this summer.
French striker Antoine Griezmann is said to be playing in the last few years of his Barcelona career and the club definitely need a younger and more reliable replacement. Depay ticks all the boxes of the traits and attributes the Barca manager wants in an attacker, and Koeman has reportedly phoned his compatriot to ask how he would like to play for Barcelona.
Depay came close to signing for the Spanish club last summer but the deal failed to happen, but there could be a breakthrough in transfer negotiations this summer with Lyon bracing themselves for a bid from Barca.
The forward has hit double figures in goals and assists this season, making it the third time he would reach that feat in the last four seasons. The other striker Barca are rumored to be interested in is Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, but with the German Bundesliga giants insisting that the star is not for sale, a move for Depay could be the next viable option for Barcelona.
