Barcelona won their 23rd La Liga title

A few days ago on March 22, Barcelona took a huge step in their journey of winning their 23rd La Liga title as the team of Luis Enrique claimed a 2-1 victory over their rivals Real Madrid and now all they have to do is secure positive results in the upcoming matches in the Spanish League which will be reaching itas end in around 2 months.

Jeremy Mathieu kicked off the match for Barcelona as he scored at the 19th minute but C.Ronaldo tied the match up 1-1 before the half reached itas end as both sides went on to their respective dressing rooms well aware that the next goal could seal all 3 points and it was scored by Luis Suarez.

Real Madrid appeared to be the better team in the first half and during a significant part of the 2nd half as well but a splendid performance from Claudio Bravo was enough for Barcelona to only concede one goal throughout the entirety of the match.

This victory could be the difference between winning the Spanish League title of the current season and not being able to win by just a few points and even though Barcelona did not dominate the match as they usually do, it still was a victory.

The former coach and player of Barcelona Johan Cruyff who won the Spanish title on 4 successive years as the manager of the Spanish team is well aware that the club he used to be in charge of was the weaker team throughout a large part of the match but he stated his happiness in seeing that his team was still able to come out on top with the crucial triumph and all 3 points. HOLLAND WILL IMPROVE

Former Holland international Johan Cruyff has said that the national team should improve their performance significantly if they are to do well at the 2014 World Cup. Holland have become one of the first nations to qualify for the World Cup after securing a 2-0 win over Andorra in the qualifiers. Italy are the only other team from Europe to have made it to the World Cup at this stage itself. Despite this, Cruyff thinks that the team would struggle at the World Cup if they do not improve their performance, while he also sees the lack of experience is a major problem.

Holland made it to the finals of the 2010 World Cup, but since then they have been very disappointing. The appointment of Louis van Gaal, though, appears to have made the team a little better when it comes to getting results. Of course, they have qualified for the World Cup in stunning fashion, but the real test of the team will come at the World Cup when there are only top teams involved. Brazil will be one of the favourites to win the competition being the home team. The likes of Spain and Italy will also be mentioned as possible favourites.

Cruyff is regarded as one of the best Dutch players ever and he has won numerous FIFA Ballon daOr awards.

“If this [level] continues we will be lucky to survive the group stage [at the World Cup]. There is a lack of experience. Take, for example, Brazil and think about at the Confederations Cup. Those Brazilians in Brazil will slaughter us unless we are able to stand up in a footballing way. There is one year left. In the past we have kept things at a high level, and the last time we were in the finals. Let’s hope that this generation can match that,” said Cruyff.
